What do you think? Good or bad? Article below.

Seriously, though, the ESRB may have ruined the Japanese publisher's plans a bit here, as it's published an overview of the upcoming survival horror. Here's the premise: "This is a survival-horror game in which players assume the role of Ethan, a man searching for his missing wife in a derelict mansion." Silent Hill 2… Is that you?
We already knew about Ethan as he was mentioned in the game's recent Gamescom 2016 trailer. But there's more: "From a first-person perspective, players explore the environment and use pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives, and chainsaws to kill mutant creatures. Combat is accompanied by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and exaggerated blood-splatter effects."
Hmmm, it's starting to sound a little more action-heavy than Capcom has suggested, isn't it? "As players progress through the story, cutscenes can depict instances of gore and intense acts of violence: a character's arm dismembered by a chainsaw; a man's leg taken off at the knee with a shovel; a character impaled through the face with a shovel." Yeah, definitely.
We should get a proper look at Resident Evil 7's campaign at the Tokyo Game Show next month.

I really can't wait for re7 looks amazing love the demo If it is anything like the Silent Hill games.
I think I'll heart it AS WELL.
I mean the demo was interesting enough, but Capcom.

I preordered it, really looking forward to it. The Demo was very short but promising. Maybe one Day they will listen and made the perspective optional

Hello,
I'm very cautious about how I feel about this game. I want to be hyped about it, but after my excitement for six, I don't want to be let down like that again...
The gameplay reminded me more of Outlast than Silent hill. Despite what it looks like, it does look pretty good! I am however struggling to not look forward to it, as Resident evil is my favourite franchise.

I'm just happy they are returning to survival horror. I think everyone continues to overlook that fact. It's either this or war torn landscapes in fictional European countries with explosions and guns in a tired, over used third person over the shoulder camera.
I think I'll take the creepy Bayou house in first person please.

I really agree with the environments and continuation of actual survival horror, but I want tank controls that are updated to this generations standards.

The demo definitely seemed like they were trying to rip off PT at times, but atmosphere-wise it felt like classic RE to me. I'm psyched.

As long as it's not like Silent Hill Downpour I'm fine with it.

I'm still not happy about the whole first person thing, to me it just isn't your classic resident evil unless its third person

I'm afraid i'm in the full-blown emo camp on this one. As far as Capcom and the RE series are concerned I've long since lost all respect and trying to copy a scrapped silent hill game that was set to do well isn't exactly blowing my skirt up quite yet. It just reeks of more soulless chasing after what they think will shift the most units. "what's selling well these days" "What are the kids into" etc.
I was looking forward to PT but Capcom are the last people I would ever want trying to resurrect it.

I'd rather think of it more like Capcom continuing and expanding on the concept of P.T while also incorporating iconic elements of its own unique survival horror franchise. Wouldn't you rather see a AAA studio like Capcom at least carry on the idea and elements shown in P.T and given life rather than tossed in the trash like it was under the ever so "loving" care of Konami?
Try to think positive. We are returning to real survival horror as the devs have said in various interviews and articles. Now, I don't know if that's really going to happen or if they are just blowing smoke.
However I do think them just even flat out saying they've been actively listening and using said feedback to improve the game's style and tone. It's clear they were influenced by P.T but the fact remains P.T and Silent Hills with it is dead. Konami could care less about creating a genuinely cerebral and engaging survival horror game like they once did. If Capcom can take the ball and run with it so to speak then I say go, go, and go and remember what made not only the franchise special but survival horror as well.

I like the Setting that they showed so far, and the Bakers and the Ghost Girl caught my Interest. I like also the Aunt Rhody Song, reminds me a bit of Mgs5 the Way they added the Song to the Trailer. I liked it. Not sure if it really has to be first Person, they could put first and third Person perspective so the Player can choose. Shouldnt be too hard to make that optional. Seems like Capcom jumped onto the FPP Train -.- Well see

If Capcom can take the ball and run with it so to speak then I say go, go, and go and remember what made not only the franchise special but survival horror as well. I try not to be a negative person in day to day life but when it comes to my love for AAA videogames and the developers behind them. That positivity and trust seems to be met with more and more disappointment as the years go on. (i've even lost faith in KOJIMA! That was ma boi, he was my safety net!) Though i'm not one since the early 90's I feel for the street fighter fans as since the release of IV they seem to have been full out taken advantage of and taken for every penny they could get with endless re-releases and disc locked dlc. It also got my back up when I heard they flat out refused to release the extra characters in MvC 3 as DLC and simply announced that if people wanted them they have to buy the game again or tough titties. Though still a divisive issue it's now pretty apparent that the DMC series was rebooted purely in the name of creating publicity through drama and controversy and the decision was made by Capcom. Directly at the expense of the fans who patiently waited years just to feel betrayed and overlooked. And what's worse is...it kinda worked. Supposedly Capcom also made a statement after canceling megaman legends 3 that "the fans were to blame, for not being invested enough" In recent years I seemed to see more and more of this poor behavior from Capcom in particular and they don't seem to be showing any sign of changing their ways. But the way the industry is these days the only real way to even get their attention at that corporate level is to speak with the wallet. Override that impulse to run out on day 1 and play hardball. If a game is a flop the truth will soon surface and it's surprising how quickly that "i'm missing out" impulse withers away once you see people ranting about how they wasted their money (recently made the right call after not running out for Arkham Knight despite how bad I wanted it/trusted Rocksteady). And if it gets the thumbs up from the masses just grab it a few days later and everybody still wins. But with things like "pre-order now" being pushed all that's doing is trying to pray on that impulse before you have a chance to make your own decision. man I been chattin some sh*t on this site already Help i'm off the forum wagon!
